BERNARDSVILLE/BEDMINSTER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Carol Garcia who nominated her son Kyle, grade 11 of Bernardsville-Bedminster.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Kyle is a hard-working teen. He has maintained a high GPA 3.97 while working part-time throughout the year. He serves the community as a cashier at a local supermarket throughout the year while working as a full-time camp counselor in the summer. His employers and people in the community and the camp are always commenting what a hard worker and how respectful he is. He even got employee of the month at the supermarket the first month he was there and similar awards at the camp. In addition to his service through work he has volunteered some of his time at the local libraries. He has a love for music that he shares with others through the Concert Choir and Madrigals program at school. They share their music with the community through school concerts, at nursing homes, caroling in the community, and other local community events. They have even competed at The Parks Festival/Competition event at Hershey Park and are on their way to Nashville, TN for another competition in March. Kyle is a hard-working, well-rounded individual, inside the classroom and out. He is loved and respected by his family, friends, and community.
