Turf Referendum Discussion, Bedminster Meeting Before July 4 Holiday
Both Bernardsville and Bedminster municipal offices due to close on Thursday, July 4.

Both Bernardsville and Bedminster have some business to take care of before this Thursday's July 4 holiday this week.
On Monday, the Bedminster Township Committee is scheduled to meet for a regular meeting at 7 p.m. The municipal building is at 1 Miller Lane.
One of the items on the agenda is authorization to award the contract for the Resurfacing of Country Club Road to Fischer Contracting, Inc. for up to $396,523.90.
The Township Committee also is planning to enter into a road maintenance and snow removal agreement with neighboring Far Hills to take on additional roadways.
The Bernardsville Borough Council has been discussing putting a referendum on this November's ballot to use more than $1M of open space funds to pay for installation of a synthetic turf field at the borough-owned Upper Polo Grounds off Seney Drive.
And this Tuesday, at 10 a.m., the Bernardsville Environmental Commission has scheduled a special meeting to discuss the commission's take on the proposal. The meeting is scheduled to be held at borough hall at 166 Mine Brook Road.
Both Bedminster and Bernardsville municipal offices are scheduled to be closed on Thursday, July 4. The Bernardsville Land Use Board meeting scheduled for that night has been called off.
On July 4, many residents from this area head down to North Branch Park in Bridgewater for Somerset County's Fourth of July celebration, the year's biggest party in the county. This year will be the 43rd Annual Independence Day Family Festival.
The Festival begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday, and admission is free.
The evening of Americana represented by patriotism, music, and family entertainment will include a variety of performers, a reenactment of a Revolutionary War encampment by the Third New Jersey Regiment Revolutionary Encampment, children’s games and activities, plenty of food, and a sensational display of fireworks.

Verdict will kick off the Independence Day live stage performance at 6:30 p.m. with a blend of classic reggae, calypso, soca, and funk island music. Disco hits of the 70's will follow when Dancin’ Machine hits the stage at 8:30 p.m.
Central New Jersey’s largest fireworks display will begin at at 9:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the fireworks only will be presented on July 5 or the first clear evening at 9:30 p.m.
