2 Home Burglaries Reported In Bloomfield On Same Day: Police

One resident yelled at the suspect, sending him fleeing. Another burglary was interrupted when a dog began barking, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two home burglaries were recently reported in Bloomfield on the same day, authorities say.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about the burglaries, which took place on July 15:

  • “Officers responded to the area of Johnson Avenue on report of a burglary. According to a resident, an unknown individual attempted to enter the locked front door of his home while he was sitting on his couch. The resident yelled at suspect which caused him to flee and enter a white BMW X3. This incident is under investigation.”
  • “Officers responded to the area of Hawthorne Avenue on report of a burglary. According to a resident, two unknown individuals attempted to open a window to his residence with a pry bar. Once his dog began barking, the two suspects fled the scene in a white BMW X3.”
