2023 ‘Holiday Hunt’ Is Returning For Bloomfield Shoppers

With the holidays approaching, the Bloomfield Center Alliance (BCA) is once again promoting the “shop local” theme with its annual Small Business Saturday “Holiday Hunt” activity (November 25th/1 PM – 4 PM). For the last four years, this event has welcomed visitors to the town’s main commercial district to shop for the holidays at participating stores and restaurants. While here folks will be treated to holiday music, delicious holiday treats, and fun family activities. At present, a total of eleven downtown businesses are participating (see list below), but the expectation is that a few more will be added by the day of the event.

Attendees are instructed to arrive @ the Six Points Plaza (574 Bloomfield Avenue) where they will receive a map showing the location of participating businesses and other “must visit” destinations as they conduct their hunt for holiday gifts. Several restaurants will be offering free winter treats such as hot chocolate and desserts. Participants will also be eligible for raffle prizes including gift baskets filled with donated items from downtown businesses, including Bloomfield Buy Rite (wine), Civilized Nation (accessories), and Murdoch Shoes (pair of UGG slippers).

The plaza (located at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Glenwood Avenue) will be a hub of activity that afternoon. Special guest Paul Fasone will be singing popular, holiday tunes between 2-3:30 PM and a live ice carving demonstration will get underway at 2:30 PM. Children of all ages will be able to indulge their creative side at the “do-it-yourself” craft table that will be set up to make holiday tree decorations. There will also be an appearance by Anna of Arendelle from the popular Disney movie Frozen and of course Santa Claus who’ll be helping get everyone into the holiday spirit.

While hunting for gifts and treats in the downtown district, participants will also be directed to downtown event sponsors Level Up Urgent Care and the soon to open Nightjar Dispensary. A specially crafted ice carving of their respective logos will be set up at their locations. Visitors will be encouraged to visit each business where they will receive free giveaways and have the chance to take a cool selfie next to the logo carving to share and post.
