• NJ firefighter accused of racist taunts no longer employed, says mayor (northjersey.com) — Bloomfield’s mayor has confirmed that the firefighter involved in a 2023 noose incident is no longer employed by the township, though officials won’t say whether he was fired or resigned. The change in status comes as a federal civil-rights lawsuit by fellow firefighter Patrick Thomas continues, raising questions about how transparently Bloomfield handles serious workplace misconduct allegations.
