4 Dogs From Bloomfield Earn Prizes At Halloween Costume Contests

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Four adorable doggos from Bloomfield captured prizes at a 2023 Strutt Your Mutt Halloween contest in Essex County.

Essex County held its annual series of free canine Halloween costume parades and contests at three of its parks for 2024: Branch Brook, Brookdale and Grover Cleveland.

Bloomfield resident Melanie Guerrero and her pets, Aiko and Minnie – who were dressed up as characters from Cinderella – won Best in Show at Branch Brook (see photo in gallery above).

Kaie Perez and her family and their pets, Dave and Kermit – who were dressed up as chocolate chip cookies – won third place in the Best Group Costume category at Branch Brook (see photo below).

Michael Kapotis and Felicia Ariksson and their pet, Willow – who were dressed up as hot dog vendors and a hot dog – won second place in the Cutest Costume category at Brookdale (see photo below).

Bloomfield residents Keri, Sophia, Luca and Maribel Misurell and their pets, Teddy and Tootsie – who were dressed up as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce – won third place in the Most Creative Costume category at Brookdale (see photo below).
