Abandoned Cats Found In Box In Bloomfield With Heartbreaking Note
"I can't feed them any more … I lost my job."

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — “I can’t feed them any more … I lost my job.” This heartbreaking message – scrawled on the outside of a cardboard box with two cats inside – was recently found at a busy apartment complex in Bloomfield.
On Wednesday, the Bloomfield Animal Shelter said that a pair of cats are on their way to a better future after being abandoned this week. The felines were found inside a box, with a note asking that they be taken to a humane society.
“We wish their owners contacted us beforehand,” staff at the Bloomfield shelter said. “We would’ve helped with food if it meant they could stay in their home.”

“Instead, this box was left at a busy apartment complex with no owner information,” the shelter added. “Now, we’re left to mend their broken hearts, rebuild their trust, and help them regain a healthy weight … It’s only up from here boys!”
