Bloomfield 2022 Election: See Updated Results For BOE, Council, Mayor
No Republicans challenged the Democratic incumbents for mayor and council in Bloomfield. See the latest results for Bloomfield school board.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield voters headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast ballots in the 2022 general election. Although the mayor and town council races were unopposed, local voters also chose candidates for the Bloomfield Board of Education, as well as other candidates on the county, state and federal levels.

ELECTION RESULTS IN BLOOMFIELD

In Bloomfield, mayor Michael Venezia and town council members Wartyna Nina Davis, Ted Gamble and Richard Rockwell ran unopposed for three-year terms. No Republican candidates were nominated.
Meanwhile, five candidates ran for three seats on the Bloomfield Board of Education: Benjamin Morse, Jill Fischman, Phyllis Gerber, Joshua Trojak and Josefina Rosario-Simone.
With 33 of 35 districts reported as of Friday, Fischman, Gerber and Morse had leads over Rosario-Simone and Trojak. Here are the unofficial results from the Essex County Clerk's Office:
- Benjamin Morse - 5,130 votes (22.68%)
- Jill Fischman - 5,525 votes (24.43%)
- Phyllis Gerber - 5,035 votes (22.26%)
- Joshua Trojak - 2,753 votes (12.17%)
- Josefina Rosario-Simone - 4,176 votes (18.46%)
OTHER RACES
Bloomfield voters got to choose a candidate for Essex County executive. Both candidates ran unopposed in the primary election: incumbent Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. (Democrat) and Adam Kraemer (Republican). Read More: See Essex County Executive 2022 Election Results: DiVincenzo vs. Kraemer
Bloomfield voters also cast a ballot for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The township is represented by Mikie Sherrill in the 11th Congressional district, where it moved after previously being split with the 10th district. Bloomfield voters also picked between two candidates to fill an unexpired term for a New Jersey Senate seat in the 28th Legislative district: Renee C. Burgess and Joy Bembry Freeman.
