Bloomfield 2025 Election: See Results For Mayor, Council, School Board (UPDATED)
Who is leading the races in Bloomfield? Here are the latest election results.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The dust has settled from this week's local elections in Bloomfield, and several candidates have moved to the front of the pack, unofficial results show.
A highly watched governor race brought many Bloomfield residents to the polls on Tuesday. But there were plenty of other choices for local voters to make in the 2025 general election.

MAYOR

Incumbent Bloomfield mayor Jenny Mundell ran as a Democrat against independent challenger Joan Hussey. No Republican candidate filed to run. The term lasts for three years.
With 100 percent of districts reported, Mundell is leading Hussey by thousands of votes. Mundell has claimed victory and Hussey has conceded defeat. Results still need to be certified before they are official.
Here are the unofficial results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:
- Jenny Mundell – 12,385 votes (80.31%)
- Joan Hussey – 3,036 votes (19.69%)
TOWN COUNCIL AT-LARGE
There were three at-large seats on the Bloomfield Town Council available. The candidates included independent challenger Jonathan Mejia and three Democrats: Tracy Toler-Phillips, Monica Charris Tabares, and Jill Fischman. No Republican candidate filed to run. Terms last for three years.
With 100 percent of districts reported, Toler-Phillips, Charris Tabares and Fischman have apparently captured seats on the council. Results still need to be certified before they are official.
Here are the unofficial results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:
- Tracy Toler-Phillips – 11,880 votes (29.96%)
- Monica Charris Tabares – 12,735 votes (32.12%)
- Jill Fischman – 12,271 votes (30.95%)
- Jonathan Mejia – 2,767 votes (6.98%)
TOWN COUNCIL FIRST WARD
An unexpired, one-year council term in the 1st Ward was available. Rosalee Gonzalez ran unopposed. No Republican candidate filed to run.
BOARD OF EDUCATION
There are seven candidates competing for three open seats on the Bloomfield Board of Education. Terms last for three years. The candidates are Deanna Wilson, Kerri Joyce, Jelani Jeffrey, Andrew Lomonte, Quan R. Miller, Thomas Heaney, and Benjamin Morse.
With 100 percent of districts reported, Wilson, Lomonte and Joyce have apparently captured seats on the board. Results still need to be certified before they are official.
Here are the unofficial results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office:
- Deanna Wilson – 5,923 votes (18.43%)
- Kerri Joyce – 5,224 votes (16.26%)
- Jelani Jeffrey – 4,203 votes (13.08%)
- Andrew Lomonte – 5,450 votes (16.96%)
- Quan R. Miller – 4,627 votes (14.4%)
- Thomas Heaney – 4,177 votes (13.0%)
- Benjamin Morse – 2,529 votes (7.87%)
