Bloomfield 9/11 Tribute Will Include 2,977 Lit Bags To Honor Victims
The luminary bags each represent a life that was lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield community recently came together to create 2,977 luminary bags that will be set up at the Town Green in tribute to the victims of 9/11.
The lighted bags – which each represent a life that was lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 – will be displayed at Bloomfield’s 2024 remembrance ceremony on Wednesday.
“We invite the entire Bloomfield Community to attend the ceremony to remember and honor the lives lost, in particular our three Bloomfield residents Cesar A. Alviar, Catherine A. Nardella and Daniel Rosetti,” town officials said. “Never Forget!”

The town’s ceremony begins at 7 p.m. at the historic Town Green, 84 Broad Street. Luminary bags will remain lit until 9:11 p.m.
