Bloomfield Election Results Finalized: School Board, Mayor, Council
That's a wrap for the 2024 election in Bloomfield. Here are the winners for each race.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — That's a wrap for the 2024 election in Bloomfield.
On Tuesday, the Essex County Clerk's Office confirmed to Patch that the results from the 2024 general election have been certified in the wake of Election Day, which took place on Nov. 5.
Bloomfield voters cast ballots for three local races: school board, mayor and town council.

MAYOR
David Tucker (Republican) ran against councilwoman Jenny Mundell, who defeated interim mayor Ted Gamble in a primary election for the Democratic nod earlier this year.

Mundell, who emerged victorious, has already been sworn in as mayor. Here are the final results, as per the clerk’s office:
- Jenny Mundell – 15,788 votes (70.41%)
- David Tucker – 6,634 votes (29.59%)
Gamble received 91 write-in votes for mayor, the clerk's office noted.
TOWN COUNCIL
Bloomfield residents also cast ballots for an unexpired at-large seat on the town council. Monica Charris Tabares has captured the seat. She was sworn in Monday.
Here are the final results, as per the clerk’s office:
- Monica Charris Tabares – 15,521 votes (69.81%)
- Russell Mollica – 6,712 votes (30.19%)
BOARD OF EDUCATION
Six candidates competed for three open seats on the Bloomfield Board of Education. Terms last for three years.
Viviana Rojas, Jessica Aviles and Michael Heller have emerged victorious. Here are the final results, as per the clerk’s office:
- Viviana Rojas – 7,877 votes (19.32%)
- Jessica Aviles – 7,669 votes (18.81%)
- Michael Heller – 7,546 votes (18.51%)
- Matthew Brewster – 5,998 votes (14.71%)
- Joelle Bernhard – 5,985 votes (14.68%)
- Shane Berger – 5,688 votes (13.95%)
