Bloomfield Home Evacuated When Fire Breaks Out: BFD
Nobody was injured in the blaze, the Bloomfield Fire Department said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Residents of a Bloomfield home were forced to evacuate after a fire broke out on Sunday, but nobody was injured, authorities say.
The Bloomfield Fire Department responded to the 200-block of Watsessing Avenue around 1 p.m. Here’s what they encountered, authorities said:
“Units arrived to find heavy fire showing from the rear of the home, threatening the house next door. The fire companies were able to quickly contain the fire at its origin, preventing it from spreading further throughout the building or to any nearby exposures. Thanks to the firefighters’ swift actions, the fire was knocked down within a few minutes of arrival, and extensive overhaul was conducted to ensure complete extinguishment. All residents were safely evacuated from the home, and no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.”
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Bloomfield Fire Prevention, officials said Monday.
