Bloomfield Township proudly announces its 4th annual Juneteenth Celebration, set to take place Saturday, June 15, from noon to 7 p.m. The event will be held on Glenwood Avenue, between Washington Street and Lackawanna Avenue in Bloomfield, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and honoring the rich history and culture of African Americans. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with music, food, and activities suitable for people of all ages.
This inclusive and educational celebration is free and open to the public, fostering unity and appreciation for diversity within our community. Local artists, community leaders, and historians will come together to honor this significant moment in American history and celebrate the enduring contributions of African Americans to our society.

"The Juneteenth Celebration holds profound significance for our community and our country,” said Mayor Ted Gamble. “It’s a moment when we can reflect on the end of slavery and the ongoing journey towards equality and justice for all. I am proud to see Bloomfield come together to commemorate this important day and celebrate the resilience and cultural richness of the African American community."

"Our partners, sponsors, activities, vendors and entertainment have grown substantially and we have added an hour for everyone to enjoy more of the day.
