Bloomfield Marks Juneteenth Holiday With Public Celebration (PHOTOS)

Bloomfield held its fifth annual Juneteenth celebration, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of residents.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield held its fifth annual Juneteenth celebration last week, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of residents.

The family friendly celebration took place from noon to 7 p.m. at Glenwood Avenue and Washington Street.

According to a municipal advisory, the community celebration was held to “honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States, while celebrating the rich cultural contributions, resilience, and achievements of Black people throughout history.”
