Bloomfield Residents Killed After Semi-Truck Crashes Into Car: Police

Three people died, including a juvenile, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A car crash on the NJ Turnpike in Mercer County claimed the lives of two Bloomfield residents and an unidentified juvenile last weekend, authorities say.

According to the NJ State Police, a tractor-trailer entered the right shoulder of the road and struck a parked SUV around 1:39 p.m. on Sunday in East Windsor Township.

The driver of the SUV – identified as Elin R. Waithe, 44, of Bloomfield – was standing outside the GMC on the right shoulder at the time. Three passengers were inside the vehicle, police said.

Waithe and the front seat passenger – Quacy Waithe, 47, of Bloomfield – sustained fatal injuries, along with one of the two juveniles in the back seat, police said.
