Bloomfield Sees 3 Catalytic Converter Thefts In A Week: Police
Thefts of the expensive car parts have been a recurring issue in Bloomfield and other Essex County towns.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Catalytic converter thieves returned to Bloomfield last week, with three separate incidents reported in the township, police said Thursday.

Dec. 2 – Officers responded to the area of Dodd Street on report of a Catalytic Converter Theft. A resident parked her vehicle on the street on 11/29/2024 and when she returned to it the following morning, she noticed the vehicle making a loud noise. She then inspected the vehicle and noticed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.
Dec. 2 – A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Catalytic Converter Theft from the area of Newark Avenue. The resident parked her vehicle on the street on 11/29/2024 and when she returned to it the following morning, she noticed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.

Dec. 5 – Officers responded to the area of Oakland Avenue on report of a Catalytic Converter Theft. The complainant parked his vehicle on the street overnight and when he returned to it the following day, he noticed the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.
