Bloomfield Town Garage Sale Will Proceed Despite Weather Forecast

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A town-wide garage sale will proceed this Saturday and Sunday in Bloomfield, with plans to hold another event the following weekend due to a rainy weather forecast.

The Township of Bloomfield recently announced that it will be hosting a community town-wide garage sale on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30.

“This is a great opportunity for residents to declutter their homes, make some extra money, and have some fun while doing it,” Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia said.

Now – with rain predicted for this weekend – Bloomfield has added an extra two dates to the schedule. According to a municipal news release:

“Despite inclement weather reports in the area, the Township of Bloomfield has announced it will go ahead as planned with its community town wide garage sale on April 29 and April 30. However, to accommodate residents they are extending the event to the following weekend (May 6 and 7), and fees will be waived for any registrants on the new dates. Existing applications will also be honored should they decide to participate next weekend instead.”

To encourage participation, the township has waived the garage sale permit fees, which means residents can participate without having to pay a permit fee. However, registration is required, organizers noted.

As before, participants are responsible for setting up their own sales, and should remove any unsold items or debris at the conclusion of the event.
