Bloomfield Vehicle Owner Scares Off Would-Be Thieves: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A Bloomfield resident scared off two men who tried to steal a vehicle out of his driveway last week, authorities say.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about the attempted theft, which took place on July 12:

“Officers responded to the area of Watsessing Avenue on report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. A resident was in his neighbor’s backyard when they observed two males run up his driveway and attempt to take his Range Rover. When the complainant came out from the backyard, the suspects fled the scene.”

The incident is under investigation, Bloomfield police said.
