The Bloomfield Public School District had a delayed opening on Tuesday, Jan. 16 due to the inclement weather forecast.

Another delayed opening will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

PARKING IN BLOOMFIELD

The Bloomfield Police Department has issued two important notices in connection with the weather.

Alternate side street parking is suspended for Tuesday. It will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

All "county snow streets" must be cleared of vehicles when covered with snow, so the town's DPW can clear the roads properly. Vehicles that are not moved may be issued a ticket and towed. The list of streets includes Broad St., Bloomfield Ave., Belleville Ave., Franklin St., Grove St., Hoover Ave., West Passic Ave. and Watchung Ave.

"If your vehicle needs to be moved off the street, you may park in any of the Recreation Department Parking Lots; Felton Field, Pulaski Park, Upper Memorial Park, Clarks Pond South, Wrights Field, or Board of Education Lots," police said.

Any vehicle parked in a board of education lot must be removed by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, or it may be ticketed and towed, police said.
