The original "Happy Gilmore," released in 1996, was one of Sandler's breakout roles (following 1995's "Billy Madison"). Sandler and Tim Herlihy teamed up to write the script for the original and for this upcoming sequel. And if a recent social media post from the actor is any indication, the new movie will be channeling some of that nostalgia.
"It ain’t over," Sandler teased on Instagram, quoting the original film. "The way I see it… we’ve only just begun."
