Obituary: Tracy L. Cox

The proud founder and owner of Cox Technologies, which specialized in IT consulting, has passed away at the age of 69.

Tracy L. Cox

Tracy L. Cox, of Plainfield, passed away at the age of 69, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Lightways Hospice Home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Tracy was born in Clevland, OH on April 22, 1952. He attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH and received his Bachelors Degree from Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ. Various occupational pursuits led him to Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey and Ohio. He went on to retire as the proud founder and owner of Cox Technologies, which specialized in IT consulting. When he wasn’t hard at work with computers, he had a passion for building and flying remote control planes as a member of the Joliet Radio Control Club.

He is preceded by his parents, William B. and Frances (nee Bevis) Cox.

Tracy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Terri L. Cox; his two daughters, Claire Cox and Kelly Cox; and his siblings, Beth Cox, Ken Cox, and Carolyn Cox Rhinebarger. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A Celebration of Life for Tracy L. Cox will be held privately by the family. As it was his request, cremation rites were accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or to the National Park Foundation would be appreciated.
