Op-Ed: Foley Field Work Was A Group Effort
Board of Education Member Praises Entire Community as Work at Field Nears Completion.
Dear Fellow Bloomfielders:
While Bloomfield parents are looking forward to getting their children back in the classroom in just a few weeks, students are likely beginning to dread the thought of homework assignments, test preparations and college applications.
But this year, with the rehabilitation of Foley Field almost complete, our township’s students truly have something they can be excited about. For the first time in many years Bloomfield High School student athletes will have a top-class playing field to call their own, and graduating seniors will celebrate the receipt of their diplomas, like so many classes did before them.

The completion of this project is a true testament of what can be accomplished when parents, the township and board of education work together. I am proud to have been a part of this process and would like to acknowledge all of my board colleagues that made this possible. It is also important to recognize the efforts of former board members Susan Wolf, Rachel Park and Tony Petrillo. While they are no longer serving, their accomplishments on behalf of our students will have a meaningful impact for many years to come.
I look forward to seeing all of Bloomfield turn out for what will be a truly momentous occasion when the stadium opens.
