• Firefighters Put On ‘Emergency Light Show’ In Bloomfield For The Holidays (VIDEO) (patch.com) — Bloomfield residents can get into the holiday spirit with a festive “emergency light show” created by the Bloomfield Fire Department at Fire Station 2 on Watsessing Avenue. For the second year, firefighters synchronized their vehicle lights to Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “A Mad Russian’s Christmas,” including a decorated Rescue Company 1 truck, and shared warm holiday wishes with the community.

• Firefighter Caught On Video Tying Noose, Throwing It At Black Colleague (iheart.com) — Bloomfield officials have confirmed that a township firefighter seen on video tying a noose and throwing it toward a Black colleague is no longer employed by the Bloomfield Fire Department. After a criminal case and internal investigation, Mayor Jenny Mundell emphasized that Bloomfield will not tolerate racism in its local government workplaces.

Bergner (townshipjournal.com subscription) — Bloomfield readers may remember Kathryn “Kathy” Bergner as a 1980 Bloomfield High School graduate who worked at the beloved Holsteins while in school. The longtime Sussex resident is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, musician, and caregiver, with private services arranged through Smith-McCracken Funeral Home.
