Patch Salutes Bloomfield 'Local Heroes': Salvatore Goncalves

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times. And in Bloomfield, it's no different.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from an unnamed "Bloomfield educator," who nominated Superintendent Salvatore Goncalves.

"Leading a school district is no small feat," they wrote. "Mr. Goncalves does so with the best interest of kids at all times. His dedication to the children of Bloomfield is second to none and does not go unnoticed. He goes above and beyond to ensure the kids receive the best possible educational experience."

We asked the following question: What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero? Here was their reply:

"Mr. Goncalves is a passionate, dedicated, and honest educator who always wants what’s best for kids."
