St. Francis ANCC and Glen Ridge Congregational Church Celebrate the Blessing of the Animals

Joyous ecumenical celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi in Glen Ridge.

In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the parish of St. Francis of Assisi American National Catholic Church (www.stfrancisnj.org) joined our friends at the Glen Ridge Congregational Church after the 11:00 A.M. Mass for the cherished Blessing of the Animals.

This annual tradition honors St. Francis of Assisi, the beloved patron saint of animals and ecology, reminding us that all of creation is a loving gift from God. That divine love is reflected in the bond we share with our animal companions—their devotion to us, and ours to them.

The celebration was filled with barks of approval, purrs of joy, and plenty of smiles from those gathered. The dogs wagged, the cats posed proudly, and everyone enjoyed a few special treats—both human and pet!
