Stolen Car, 2 Attempted Vehicle Thefts In Bloomfield: Police
A driver said she left her car in a parking garage overnight. When she returned the next morning, the rear window was shattered, police say.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A stolen car and two stolen vehicle attempts were recently reported in Bloomfield, authorities say.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:
Aug. 13 – Officers responded to a parking garage on Farrand Street after getting a report about an attempted motor vehicle theft. A resident parked her vehicle in the garage overnight, and when she returned to it the following morning, she noticed the rear window was shattered and the ignition was tampered with. This incident is under investigation.

Aug. 16 – Officers responded to the 400-block of Abington Avenue Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked her vehicle in front of the residence overnight and when she returned the following morning, she noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a black 2020 Honda Accord, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
Aug. 16 – Officers responded to the 100-block of Beach Street after getting a report about an attempted motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle in front of the residence on Aug. 11 and when he returned to it on Aug. 16, he noticed the ignition was tampered with. This incident is under investigation.
