Stolen Cars, Arrest In Bloomfield; See Latest Incidents

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police recently made an arrest in a stolen vehicle case, authorities announced Wednesday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, a 19-year-old East Orange resident was charged in connection with a motor vehicle theft that took place on Jan. 25. The theft happened at the Chipotle on Bloomfield Avenue.

Two other vehicle thefts were recently reported in Bloomfield, police say.

Jan. 31 – “Officers responded to the area of Elmwood Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident left his vehicle running and unlocked at the corner of Waldo Avenue and LaFrance Avenue. A van pulled up and two males exited and took her vehicle. The vehicle, a black 2012 Nissan Quest, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Feb. 2 – “Officers responded to 168 Bloomfield Avenue (Dirty Laundry Express) on report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant parked her vehicle in the lot of the establishment at approximately 1 p.m. and when she returned at 3:15 p.m., it was missing. The vehicle, a black 2012 Hyundai Sonata, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
