Vehicles Stolen At Pizza Hut In Bloomfield; Other Car Thefts: Police

Four vehicle thefts were reported in Bloomfield in a week, including two at a local Pizza Hut, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Four vehicle thefts were reported in Bloomfield last week, including two at a local Pizza Hut, police announced Friday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:

Sept. 2 – “Officers responded to 222 Bloomfield Avenue (Pizza Hut) on report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant left his scooter in front of the restaurant on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. When the complainant returned, he noticed the scooter missing. The complainant was able to track and recover the scooter in Newark, but the license plate was missing. This incident is under investigation.”

Sept. 4 – “Officers responded to the 100-block of Bloomfield Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked her vehicle in the rear lot of the building on Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m. When she returned on Sept. 4, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a gray 2020 Kia Optima, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Sept. 4 – “Officers responded to 222 Bloomfield Avenue (Pizza Hut) on report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant left her vehicle unlocked and running in front of the establishment while working for DoorDash. A male then exited a vehicle parked next to hers, entered her vehicle, and fled the area. The vehicle, a black 2009 BMW 3S, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

Sept. 5 – “Officers responded to the area of Baldwin Street on report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant was house sitting for the resident when she noticed the resident’s vehicle missing from the driveway. The vehicle, a white 2019 Acura RDX, was entered as stolen.”
