New Deputy Chief Named As 9 Brick Police Officers Promoted
The promotion ceremony was held at a recent Brick Township Council meeting.

BRICK, NJ — A new deputy police chief was sworn in and eight other Brick Township police officers were promoted to new ranks before family and friends at a Brick Township Council meeting.
"These promotions reflect the hard work, dedication, and commitment each of these officers has demonstrated throughout their careers with the Brick Township Police Department," the township said in a post on its Facebook page about the promotion ceremony held on March 25.
Capt. Henry Drew, who has worked for the police department since January 1995, was promoted to deputy chief. He graduated from Kean College in 1993 and has served in multiple roles in the department, including serving on the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force, the township's Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Operations Division. He was promoted to sergeant in October 2007 and served as the EMS supervisor and public information officer in the Community Policing Division from 2013-2015. From there he moved to the Investigation Division where he was a detective sergeant, and then went back to the Operations Division in June 2017. He was a Shift II Squad sergeant, then promoted to lieutenant in December 2017 and was the B Side patrol commander. In November 2018 he was put in charge of Internal Affairs in the Administrative Services Division. On Feb. 1, 2023, he was promoted to captain and has been the commander of the Operations Division.

Also promoted:
Lt. Paul Catalina was promoted to the rank of captain. Capt. Catalina has served with Brick Township since 2006.

Lt. Jason Matthews was promoted to the rank of captain. Capt. Matthews has served with the Brick Township Police Department as a police officer since 2001.
Sgt. Scott Dierking was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Lt. Dierking has served with Brick Township since 2002.
Sgt. Joseph Pacitti was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Lt. Pacitti was hired by Brick Township in 2005.
Patrolman Christopher Joaquim was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Sgt. Joaquim was hired by Brick Township in 2015.
Patrolman Joseph Deluca was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Sgt. Deluca was hired by Brick Township in 2016.
Patrolman Anthony Barlowski was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Sgt. Barlowski was hired by Brick Township in 2016.
Patrolman Kevin Docherty was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Sgt. Docherty has served with Brick Township since 2016.
"Each of these officers has shown exceptional leadership, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to serving and protecting the residents of Brick Township," the township post said. "We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of them on this significant achievement and wish them continued success as they take on their new roles within the department. Their promotions are well deserved, and we are grateful for their unwavering dedication to keeping our community safe."
"Congratulations to all of our officers on your promotions. We wish you the best of luck and are confident that you will continue to serve Brick Township with pride and outstanding leadership," the police department said.
