3 Dogs From The Caldwells Earn Prizes At Halloween Costume Contest

CALDWELLS, NJ — A trio of adorable doggos from the Caldwells captured prizes at a 2023 Strutt Your Mutt Halloween contest in Essex County.

Essex County held its annual series of free canine Halloween costume parades and contests at three of its parks for 2024: Branch Brook, Brookdale and Grover Cleveland.

North Caldwell residents Rose Russo, Joanne Rim, an unnamed relative and their pets, Max, Redd and Poppy – who were dressed up as a pickleball and pickleball players – won Best in Show at Grover Cleveland Park (see photo in gallery above).

Caldwell residents Abby and Kellan Cavanaugh and their pet, Penelope – who were dressed up as characters from the Grinch – won first place in the Best Group Costume category (see photo below).

West Caldwell residents the Geiger family and their pets, Brody and Wesley – who was dressed up as "rock, paper and scissors"– won first place in the Most Creative Costume category (see photo below).
