Trebor, Inc. Donation Helps Build New Softball Dugouts

When the owners of Trebor, Inc, in Matawan, NJ, were asked to contribute to the construction of new softball dugouts in The Caldwells, Donald Glidden & Robert Glidden, Jr. jumped at the chance to help. 

After all, the entire office has been following the softball career of Grover Cleveland seventh grader, Grace Stairiker, for several years. Peter Stairiker, Trebor Senior Vice President Sales and member of their Board of Directors, has kept the entire office up to date on Caldwell Chiefs Softball.

The Gliddens pride themselves on their long-term relationships with their clients and their employees.  Stairiker has been with the company for 22 years. 

“My fellow employees know that I am usually spending most nights acting as a catcher for Grace. And, they know in the summer I am sneaking out the door to go cheer on Grace and her teammates at a game,” confessed Stairiker.

The next day, he fills everyone in on what happened at the game. Grace has been in the Caldwell Travel Softball program for the last 3 years. At 12 years old, she’s already competing in the 14 year & under level and playing club ball with the NJ Sparks. 

“When I requested a donation from Trebor for this cause, the Gliddens were glad to help,” said Stairiker. “They know how much my daughter loves playing softball. It is her passion.”

Peter and his wife Ginny have lived in Caldwell for ten years are both actively involved in supporting Chiefs Softball.

“I can think of no better way to help the program that helped Grace develop this love of softball. Also, it is great to know that this will help future generations of girls playing for Caldwell.”

Trebor’s sponsor-level donation is part of an ongoing effort by Friends of Caldwell Softball to raise the money to design and construct new dugouts at the James Caldwell High School Varsity Field.

The field is used not only by the high school teams, but also by approximately 300 girls in the T-ball, recreation and travel softball programs each year. The initiative was spearheaded by the Rotary Club of the Caldwells who issued a matching donation challenge to the community.
