Local police are reporting that an armed robber stole a wallet and a cell phone from a victim in the Caldwell Community Center parking lot early this afternoon.

Police are stating that the suspect is a thin black male, approximately 5’8”, with a scruffy beard or partial goatee. The victim stated that the suspect was wearing a long sleeved white shirt, black jeans, a black baseball cap and black shoes at the time of the robbery.

“The suspect displayed a silver handgun and told the victim to give him everything he has,” Caldwell Police Chief James H. Bongiorno stated. “The victim was then told to go about his business and walked away from the black male and walked in to Borough Hall where the incident was reported.”
