Art by Matt Ribaudo on Display at Roseland Library

Meet the artist during a special reception on Thursday, July 24, at 6 pm.

Drawings and other art by Matthew Ribaudo, a 25-year-old artist with autism, will be on display in the Roseland Free Public Library's community room July & August.

"Matty has always used art as a form to communicate his emotions. When he was unable to express what he was feeling, he would draw it. Drawing opened a door to allow us access to his world," says his mom. "As his parents, we are still learning this world of Matthew's and continue to learn more each day. He has shown us there is light even in the darkness. Some of the most profoundly beautiful moments in our lives have been with Matthew."

The Cedar Grove resident was one of only 80 students in the entire state to win the prestigious Governor's Award for Art in 2017. So far, he has been the only non-neurotypical person to have received this honor.
