Caldwell 2024 Council Election Results: Buechner, Hunkele Lead Race

CALDWELL, NJ — The dust is settling down from the 2024 general election in Caldwell, and all districts have been reported in the race for two open seats on the borough council.
Caldwell voters went to their polling places on Nov. 5 to cast ballots for several candidates, including the borough council. Polls closed at 8 p.m., with early voting and mail-in voting launching earlier this month. >> Want local election results? Sign up for free Patch email alerts.

Four candidates are on the ballot for two open seats on the council. Barbara Ziglear Buechner and Dana Hunkele (Republican) are running against Evelyn Seijido Loesser and Steve Zisk (Democrat).
With 100 percent of districts reported, it appears that Buechner and Hunkele have captured seats on the council. Here are the uncertified election results, as per the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

- Evelyn Seijido Loesser – 1,843 votes (23.46%)
- Stephen Zisk – 1,775 votes (22.59%)
- Barbara Z. Buechner – 2,128 votes (27.09%)
- Dana Hunkele – 2,110 votes (26.86%)
