
The Caldwell College women's soccer team received the Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the 2012-13 academic year, the NSCAA announced Friday. The Cougars recorded a team grade-point average of 3.24 in 2012-13 to receive the award, which recognizes teams who have posted a team GPA of 3.0 or above.
A total of 862 college soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Caldwell women's soccer team has received the NSCAA Team Academic Award.
This year the Cougars (13-6-2), coached by Nate Guagliardi, won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament for the first time in the 16-year history of the program and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
