Caldwell Fire Department Awarded $72K Federal Grant

The Caldwell Fire Department will purchase needed safety equipment and gear this year thanks to a federal grant, according to the Alternative Press. 

The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the Caldwell $72,818 on May 27 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant. Washington Township Fire District and Roselle Borough Fire Department was also awareded money through the same grant program. 

Caldwell Mayor Ann Dassing was quoted in the article as saying this was the first time the local fire department has received money through the federal grant.
