Caldwell Police Department Is 'Actively Hiring' (How To Apply)
The Caldwell Police Department is hiring and will be taking applications until Aug. 19. Here's what applicants need to know.
CALDWELL, NJ — The Caldwell Police Department is "actively hiring" and will be taking applications until Aug. 19, authorities recently announced.
According to a news release from the CPD, requirements for the job include U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma (or equivalent), New Jersey residency and valid state driver's license. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old.
Other requirements include “excellent communication and interpersonal skills” and the ability to read, write and speak English. Applicants must meet the qualifications as specified in N.J.S.A. 40A:14-122. A New Jersey Police Training Certificate (PTC) is preferred.

The process for candidates includes:
- Successfully pass a medical examination
- Complete a thorough personal background check
- Pass a psychological evaluation
- Pass a physical fitness examination\
- Successfully complete an oral interview
- Pass a drug and alcohol screening
