Caldwell University Women's Basketball Host Goldey-Beacom in CACC Tournament

The Caldwell University women's basketball team enters the tournament having earned the top seed in the CACC North Division.

The Caldwell University women’s basketball team will face off against Goldey-Beacom College in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Caldwell enters the tournament as the top seed in the CACC North Division with a 15-4 conference record, the university said in a release. Caldwell clinched the top seed after defeating Bloomfield College 87-82 Tuesday night, leaving both teams with 15-4 conference records and a share of the CACC North Division title. Caldwell University got the top seed from the division after sweeping the Bloomfield College Bears in the season series.

This is the fifth consecutive year in which Caldwell will open the CACC Tournament at home and the eigth straight year the university has qualified for the postseason, the school said. The Caldwell Cougars are 11-8 in the CACC quarterfinals since 1992, including 4-0 the past four years.

According to the university, Caldwell’s quarterfinal matchup will take place on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.

The winners of the quarterfinals will meet in the semifinals on Friday, March 6, at Philadelphia University, the university said. The winner of the conference tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament.

Admission to Caldwell University’s quarterfinal matchup against Goldey-Beacom at Caldwell University is $6 for adults and $3 for children, students and seniors. The first 100 Caldwell University students are free, compliments of Student Activities, the university said.
