7 Kids Burned In Flash Fire In Firepit At Jersey Shore Home
Three of the kids were taken to hospitals, authorities said.
BERKELEY, NJ — Seven children suffered burns on New Year's Eve from a flash fire in an outdoor firepit at a home in Berkeley Township, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.
Authorities did not release the ages of the kids, describing them only as juveniles. Two were taken by Berkeley Township EMS to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where they were treated and released, the prosecutor's office said.
A third one was taken by her parents to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, and she also was treated and released, authorities said.

Four others declined treatment at the scene, the prosecutor's office said.
The incident happened about 10 p.m. at a home on North Trenton Avenue. Authorities have not said what caused the flash fire. Berkeley police, fire and EMS crews responded
