Caldwell University's Emily Caswell Named Academic All-American
The Caldwell University senior forward was one of 15 Division II women's basketball players to receive the honor.

Caldwell University women’s basketball player Emily Caswell has been named a Capital One Academic All-American, university officials announced.
Caswell was one of 15 Division II women’s basketball players to receive the honors, Caldwell University said in a press release. Caswell, who made the Academic All-American third team, is the eighth Caldwell University athlete to receive the honor.
Caswell, a senior studying criminal justice, has made the Dean’s List four times and was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Student-Athlete of the Month for November. Additionally, Caswell was this year’s Caldwell University recipient of the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) Woman of the Year Award, the university said.

In addition to her success in the classroom, Caswell is finding much success on the basketball court during her senior season. In 28 games, she is averaging 20.8 points per game and 13.9 rebounds per game, leading all Division II 22 double-doubles, the university said.
“We are so unbelievably proud of Emily for this accomplishment,” Associate Director of Athletics and head women’s basketball coach Kristina Danella said in the release. “She is a true example of a role model for all student-athletes by continuing to get it done on and off the court. Emily has not let anything hold her back, and when faced with tragedy and adversity, she has risen above and proved to be among the best in the nation.”
