Essex, NJTPA Plan Transportation Workshop March 13

Two public sessions at Essex County Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain will discuss plan for safe, coordinated transit throughout county.

Essex County and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) will host a pair of workshops on Wednesday, March 13 to discuss a countywide transportation issues.

The public sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at the Essex County Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain Conference Room and Atrium in West Orange.

Officials will discuss an NJTPA-funded plan to “develop a safe, coordinated and integrated multi-modal transportation system that provides access for all users while promoting connectivity, economic vitality and productivity” for Essex County communities and the ecosystem, county and NJTPA officials said in a press release.

The workshop is an opportunity for the public to share ideas about building a transportation plan that will build multi-modal connectivity for all users, the press release said, and, in turn, stronger communities and local and countywide economies with better access to transportation, housing, jobs, and educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities.

The Essex County Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain is located at 560 Northfield Ave. in West Orange.
