ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Halloween went to the dogs this year in Essex County – again.

Essex County brought back its free “Strutt Your Mutt” Halloween costume contest for local residents and their pets this year, holding three separate events at Grover Cleveland Park (Caldwell, Essex Fells), Brookdale Park (Montclair, Bloomfield), and Branch Brook Park (Newark, Belleville).

“The Essex County Dog Parks have become popular places for dog owners to bring their faithful companions,” Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. said.

“In turn, the canine costume parades are growing into a favorite Halloween celebration for everyone to enjoy,” he added.
