UPDATE: Car Fatally Strikes Pedestrian In Caldwell; Driver Remains On Scene
A car hit and killed a pedestrian on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell, authorities said.

CALDWELL, NJ — A car hit and killed a pedestrian on the 300-block of Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell on Sunday evening, authorities said.
Police were notified of the fatal collision at 6:33 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Caldwell Police Department.

The pedestrian, Gregory Katz, 68, was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson and pronounced dead at 7:25 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, authorities said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau is investigating the fatal collision. No arrests have been made, authorities said Tuesday.
