JCHS Student Signs Letter of Intent to Play Golf at Jackson State U.

Aaron Rhaney, who will attend the Mississippi university next year, helped the James Caldwell High School secure a Essex County Golf Tournament title this year.

James Caldwell High School senior Aaron Rhaney signed a letter of intent to play golf at Jackson State University in Mississippi next year.

In his first season with the high school, Rhaney played varsity golf. He was also the only high school freshman in the Super Essex Conference to make all conference in 2010.

In 2009, Rhaney qualified for The U.S. Kids Teen World Championship at Pinehurst No. 8 and competed in the Garden State Challenge Cup representing the Bergen Pioneer Tour. He also finished second in the Bergen Pioneer Tour Player of the Year point standings in 2009 and 2010.

Rhaney, who recently helped the Chiefs secure a Essex County Golf Tournament title on April 24 at Weequahic Park Golf Course in Newark, has an average score of 78, and an 18-hole best of 76 and 36-hole best of 153. 

Rhaney also played basketball for the Chiefs.
