More Snow, Below-Freezing Cold Expected in Caldwells Later This Week
Essex County barely received any snow Monday night into Tuesday. What type of weather is in the works for the rest of the week?

Caldwells was largely spared by the snow that fell across the region late Monday night into Tuesday morning, but more snow and blistering cold are expected later this week.
While Essex County wasn’t hit hard, other locations around the state received more than 6 inches of snow. Neptune City in Monmouth County received 7 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service, and Marlboro Township got 6 inches.
Morris County received several inches of snow, as well. The Morristown area received another two inches of snow from Monday night into Tuesday morning, while Lake Hopatcong topped the area at 3.8 inches, the National Weather Service reported.

With reports of more snow and bitter cold on their way, what type of weather can you expect to see in Caldwells later this week?
Temperatures on Wednesday will peak at 26, with wind chill values between 15 and 20 degrees, dipping down to a low of 12 at night. Temperatures will drop significantly on Thursday and Friday, with highs near 15 and 14 degrees respectively. The low for Thursday is expected to be -2 and mostly cloudy conditions.

- Wednesday Night: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
- Thursday: A slight chance of snow showers. Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 15. Northwest wind 8 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
- Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around -2.
- Friday: Sunny and cold, with a high near 14.
