NJ-40 Assembly Election Results: DePhillips, Barlas Win, AP Projects
Candidates included Christopher DePhillips, Al Barlas, Jeffrey Gates, and Ron Arnau.

UPDATE: The Associated Press has projected that Christopher DePhillips and Al Barlas are the winners of the New Jersey Assembly race in District 40. The results remain uncertified; 94 percent of the votes were counted as of 2:24 a.m. on Nov. 5.
Election Day has arrived for New Jersey voters, including residents of the 40th Legislative district.
On Tuesday, Garden State residents went to the polls to vote for two New Jersey Assembly seats in the 40th district, which includes the following towns in Bergen, Essex and Passaic counties: Caldwell, Cedar Grove, Essex Fells, Fairfield (Essex), Franklin Lakes, Hawthorne, Little Falls, North Caldwell, Ridgewood, Totowa, Verona, Wayne, West Caldwell, Woodland Park, Wyckoff.

With 94 percent of the votes counted, here are the unofficial results from the Associated Press:
- Christopher DePhillips – 50,936 votes (27.3%)
- Al Barlas – 48,614 votes (26.1%)
- Jeffrey Gates – 43,874 votes (23.6%)
- Ron Arnau – 42,853 votes (23.0%)
