Finally getting around to taking down those holiday lights? Police are cautioning residents not to leave ladders in their yards, as they are being used by burglars to access second floor windows of residences in the community.
A Fairfield home recently fell victim to one such burglary. Fairfield Police Deputy Chief Anthony Mann stated that the burglary occurred at the South Hampton Drive home between Dec. 31 and Jan. 3.
“Someone used a ladder left in the yard to gain entry to the residence via a second floor window,” Manna stated. “The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of money and jewelry.”
