Road Work, Closures In West Caldwell Rescheduled (UPDATE)

Officers will be on scene to assist with traffic, but delays should no longer be expected.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — Road work and street closures that were scheduled to take place this week on a stretch of Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell have been postponed until next week, authorities say.

According to an initial advisory from the West Caldwell Police Department:

“Road work and closures scheduled for this week on Bloomfield Avenue between Passaic Avenue and Kirkpatrick Lane. Officers will be on scene to assist with traffic, but delays should be expected. Although this schedule is anticipated, it may change due to weather or other circumstances.”

That work has since been rescheduled. Weather or other circumstances may alter the schedule again if needed, authorities said.

Here’s what to know about the new schedule, police said:

  • Wednesday, April 16 – Bloomfield Avenue will have a modified traffic pattern and lane closures while roadway milling takes place
  • Thursday, April 17 – Bloomfield Avenue will have lane closures after 9 a.m. for paving
  • Friday, April 18 – Bloomfield Avenue will have a modified traffic pattern while roadway striping takes place
