Students of the Month at Grover Cleveland Middle School

This month's winners will have their photos displayed in the school throughout May.

The nominations are in for the Students of the Month at Grover Cleveland Middle School.

May's award winners at the middle school for academic excellence are sixth-grader Will McCann, seventh-grader Veronica Czyzewski and eighth-grader Devan O'Sullivan.

“These students must achieve academic success; exhibit positive behavior; have a positive and friendly attitude; be understanding, honest, and caring; and be a creative thinker,” said middle school Principal James Brown. “These are the requirements to be nominated as Student of the Month.”

McCann was described as always ready to learn, with a ton of interesting — yet relevant — questions. Extremely intelligent, McCann is helpful to others, and is a team player who works well with any student with which he is grouped.

A diligent and highly self-motivated student, teachers described Czyzewski as a student who strives for excellence in all she does, including extracurricular activities.

“She often goes above and beyond expectations,” said one teacher.

Always so pleasant and positive, O’Sullivan’s grades are near perfect.

“She is always prepared, organized, and attentive,” said another teacher. “She is respectful and kind to others."
