Supermarket In The Caldwells Donates Hundreds Of Turkeys For Thanksgiving Drive
A supermarket in the Caldwells donated several hundred turkeys to a Thanksgiving food drive in Essex County.

CALDWELLS, NJ — A supermarket in the Caldwells recently donated several hundred turkeys to a Thanksgiving food drive in Essex County.
The ShopRite of West Caldwell made its donation as part of a holiday giveaway event in Newark last week, which provided Thanksgiving meals to thousands of local residents in need.
ShopRite of West Caldwell CFO Ned Gladstein – whose family roots in Essex County date back more than 80 years – was among those present at the Nov. 17 event at Weequahic High School.

“At ShopRite, we believe every family deserves a holiday meal,” Gladstein said.
“We’re grateful to join this team effort to provide holiday foods to those in need, and we hope today’s donation brings comfort, joy, and a sense of togetherness to Thanksgiving tables across our community,” Gladstein said.

Other businesses and organizations that pitched in for the effort included meal delivery service HelloFresh and Italian dessert company Bindi North America. Table to Table helped transport dozens of pallets of HelloFresh, turkeys, chickens and meals to the distribution site. Newark’s Brantley Brothers Moving Company also delivered 1,344 cases of specialty desserts.
